To tell you the truth, I’m old…

very, very old…
I was first mentioned as “Burg Wolfsperch” in a document from 1178.
Over the centuries I was renovated and expanded several times by different castle and estate owners, among them Empress Maria Theresia.
I owe my current unique character to the Henckel von Donnersmarck dynasty.
1846 was the year when Count Hugo I started massive renovation work.
He turned me, a formerly inaccessible fortress, into a castle in the English Tudor style.
Today I am owned by Kärntner Montanindustrie Gesellschaft m.b.H. and am used for various purposes.
I function as the headquarters of the company, as an event location, and even as the centre of life for Count Hugo’s great-great-grand-son.
Andreas and Johanna, Count and Countess Henckel von Donnersmarck, live in some of my state rooms together with their four children.
As the landmark of Wolfsberg, I am looking forward to seeing you – very soon I hope.
I regret to inform that I can’t be visited, apart from summertime.
In July and August I invite you to visit me and explore the exhibition presented.
The Restaurant will serve you all year around.
